Mini Stanley Cup on Vintage Sterling Silver Cross Pen

If had this Cross Sterling Silver Pen in my possession for a number of years and recently noticed it has what appears to be a miniature Stanley Cup on the clip. I was wondering what the significance of this pen might be.
